SUMMER SCUBA CAMP

Seahorse Scuba has pioneered the scuba education of kids. Since 1989 Seahorse Scuba has annually held its summer scuba camps for kids ages 10 to 15. If your child is looking for a life changing challenge this summer, call to reserve your space today. The program is a day camp lasting 1 week. The camp starts on Monday and ends on Friday. Each day starts at 8:30 and ends at 3. The camp is all-inclusive. Seahorse Scuba will provide everything your child needs for camp, except lunch. If your child is successful they will receive a PADI JR. OPEN WATER scuba diving certification. There are only 6 spaces per camp. A non-refundable deposit will hold a space until your registration date. There is a formal registration prior to the start of your child's camp. The child and at least 1 parent or legal guardian are required to attend the registration. Registration is about 1/2 hour long.

You and your child will watch a video presentation about scuba camp and have a question and answer session with the instructors. Also at this time your child will receive their CD-ROM and homework assignments. The camp week contains 3 different sessions. The first session is completed inside the classroom. If your child has completed their homework assignments they should be successful and pass their exams and be permitted to move into the second session. The second session is held outside in a pool. Here, while having fun, they'll  learn the basic skills of a scuba diver. If your child listens and watches the instructors they should be successful and be permitted to move into the third session. The third session is also outside. However, now they board the Seahorse Diver, our charter boat, and head out into the Gulf of Mexico to do 4 training dives on local wrecks and reefs. After the final training dive each successful camper is given a temporary certification card, which they can use until their permanent card comes to them from PADI HQ, through the mail. Completing the scuba camp will not be easy for your child. Maybe it's the hardest thing they will have done in their young lives. However, the new found pride and confidence they have found in themselves can serve them well through the rest of life's challenges. The camp schedule is prepared and posted each year, by May 1st. AQUA TEAM CAMP

This is a weeklong day camp for kid's ages 8 to 10. The camp starts on Monday and ends on Friday. Each day starts at 8:30 and ends at 12:30. This camp is all- inclusive. Seahorse Scuba will provide all equipment needed. However, each camper needs to bring a lunch daily. Aqua Camp is held in a pool. There is no exam or open water training. Everyday is spent in the pool learning about and having fun with scuba. There are 6 spaces per camp. There is a formal registration prior to the start of your child's camp. The child and at least 1 parent or legal guardian are required to attend the registration. Registration is about 1/2 hour long. The camp schedule is prepared and posted each year, by May 1st.
